#6 Whale watching thrill at Busselton, WA

Albany, Augusta and Busselton are three places that confused us. We wanted to spot a whale desperately. When we first figured that we can watch a whale- huge, tremendous, majestic and the biggest creatures in the world, we are like ''WHOA, WE MUST DO THIS NO MATTER HOW''. See, how minute are human being when confronted with the biggest animal.=P

Albany is the first place we knew in concern. However, this place is way too far to go. It could exhaust us in terms of distance, money and energy. Luckily, Augusta is another whale-pass-by station. Busselton is even nearer to Perth (2 hours driving).

In late August, the whales will swim to upper region of the warmer water, pass by Augusta then Busselton. Therefore, we will be able to see their migration in Augusta from June to August. However, from September onwards, the whale watching location will move to Busselton.

We are on that transition period. This confused us. Even the expert couldn't give us an exact answer. It is all depends on the whales they said.

The answer is....If you are looking for a whale to come across in late August in WA, ask for their exact location before your arrival. That can't be wrong.

Initially, we wanted to join All Sea Charters's boat trip.We did sent them a lot of emails asking about the venue, price and time. And they keep us updated too.

Too bad, All Sea Charters were not going to sail the day we went to Marina Bay.We got the luck to join Legend Charters instead. The price was $79/pax.

The seeking-whale trip started punctually on 9.45am. We got around 15 people in the boat including the crews. Xt and I waited patiently and passionately for the whales.

Blue Blue Sea~~la la la la la la

Like a boss! :D

The wind was strong, blew harshly on my face. I was trying to hide my face under the muffler as my eyes were getting dry. *-* It was freezing cold to have wind blowing on you for 3 hours.

We were lucky to spot some dolphins as appetizers.

Main course was finally ready after 3 hours on board. We were able to spot a minke whale but it never surface. We can barely see you minke, you know?

I was quite worried we would end up seeing nothing =( We longed for this boat trip and we expected a lot from it. I need to see a whale!

Humpbacks in groups finally approached. Hehe. They were huge. But Xt said they were still young calves though. We were so so so excited to see them moving around.

Spot the tail.

Although we didn't see any breaching from them, we were feeling contented to see them spouting and slapping their tails. :D

All of us were hoping for a jump. Even the Captain murmured to himself: "Jump.Come on Jump."

Fist time seeing a whale, checked.

With the crews! Oppss, xt closed his eyes.

So here another one with big wide smile =D I just look overexcited >,<

Here's a short video, upload speed is so slow so I just have to give up uploading another longer video*wink*:

I have no idea why my video is such a small screen.=(
